MICRONEEDLING
DESERT BLOOM PLASTIC SURGERY
Revitalize Your Skin with Collagen Induction Therapy
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive treatment designed to enhance your skin’s natural appearance by stimulating collagen production. Available at Oasis Aesthetics in St. George, Utah, microneedling offers an effective solution for improving skin texture, reducing the appearance of scars, and rejuvenating your complexion.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a procedure that creates controlled micro-injuries to the skin, which triggers the body’s natural healing response. This process boosts collagen and elastin production, leading to smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. While often used to treat acne scars and stretch marks, microneedling can also be effective for reducing fine lines, sun spots, and overall skin texture issues.
When Is Microneedling the Right Treatment for You?
Microneedling is an ideal treatment for individuals looking to address signs of aging, acne scars, sun spots, or general skin texture concerns. It’s a versatile procedure that can be performed on both the face and body. However, it's important to plan for some downtime, as your skin may have a mild pink glow for a few days following the treatment.Whether you want to smooth fine lines, improve the appearance of acne scars, or enhance your skin’s overall texture, microneedling provides a safe, effective solution that supports the natural rejuvenation of your skin.
Benefits of Microneedling
Microneedling is an effective treatment for a variety of skin concerns, including:
- Improving Skin Texture: Smooths rough, uneven skin texture, promoting a fresh, radiant complexion.
- Treating Acne Scars: Helps reduce the appearance of acne scars by stimulating collagen production in the affected areas.
- Reducing Fine Lines & Wrinkles: Stimulates the production of collagen and elastin to minimize fine lines and restore youthful firmness to the skin.
- Correcting Hyperpigmentation: Improves the appearance of sun spots, age spots, and overall skin tone.
- Stretch Mark Reduction: Enhances skin elasticity and minimizes the appearance of stretch marks.
How Microneedling Is Done
Microneedling is performed by our skilled Master Aesthetician, who takes the time to understand your unique skin concerns and goals. Here’s what you can expect during the procedure:
- Consultation & Skin Assessment: Before starting the treatment, we will discuss your skin’s needs and take before pictures to track your progress.
- Preparation: The treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed, and a topical numbing cream will be applied to ensure your comfort during the procedure.
- Microneedling Procedure: Once the area is numbed, we use a microneedling tool that creates controlled micro-injuries to the skin. The treatment will be performed in multiple directions to ensure even coverage. This stimulates the body’s healing process, promoting collagen production and skin rejuvenation.
- Aftercare: After the procedure, we apply a healing serum, such as SkinFuse, to help protect your skin. You will also receive aftercare instructions and products to use at home to support your healing and maximize results.
We recommend a follow-up visit in 4 weeks to assess your progress and take post-treatment pictures. Your skin will continue to improve over the next few months as collagen production continues.
What to Expect After Your Microneedling Treatment
Recovery time after microneedling is relatively short, with most clients experiencing minimal downtime. Here’s what to expect:
- Initial Redness & Sensitivity: It’s normal to have redness, a slight burning sensation, or tightness after the treatment. It may feel similar to a mild sunburn.
- Mild Pink Glow: You may notice a subtle pink glow to your skin for a few days following the procedure.
- Post-Treatment Care: You will be given aftercare products to use for moisture and comfort. For the first 24 hours, avoid touching your face, and use cool water and sterile gauze to pat the treated area. After 3 days, you can resume your normal skincare routine.
- Avoid Sun Exposure & Sweat: To allow your skin to heal properly, we recommend avoiding exercise, sun exposure, and sweating for the first 3 days after the treatment. Make sure to wear sunscreen daily with SPF 35 or higher and wear a hat when outdoors.
