A Facelift with Dr. Wallin

Facelifts are one the most popular and best-known plastic surgery procedures available today, and for a good reason. Annually, over 125 thousand Americans benefit from the subtle and lasting anti-aging results this groundbreaking procedure can provide. However, with all this popularity comes a lot of misinformation floating around.

Movies and TV, especially, can spread false or outdated claims/images of substantial nightmare results, head-bandaging, and arduous recovery periods. The truth is, though, that today facelifts are now more advanced than ever.

Modern surgical techniques and technologies allow board-certified plastic surgeons like Dr. Wallin to address the visible signs of aging with an incredible degree of precision and accuracy. And it’s not just the procedure that’s changed, either. Recovery periods have seen significant reductions over the last ten years, and today we can screen patients for a variety of possible surgical concerns well before you enter the operating room.

Why Choose Dr. Wallin

Working with Dr. Wallin provides clients the additional benefits of specialized care. Dr. Wallin has spent his career focusing on the incredibly intricate anatomy of the face. He has extensive experience working with patients of all ages, genders, and lifestyles to provide results they love. As a board-certified surgeon by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, all of Desert Bloom Plastic Surgery’s patients can be assured they are receiving the highest possible quality of care.

Our number one concern is your safety. This is always the case at Desert Bloom, and COVID-19 has been no exception. We are following strict safety protocols and all CDC guidelines within the office, and are currently open for trauma-related and urgent issues. For patients looking to discuss a procedure in the future, we’re offering no-obligation virtual consultations as well, which you can read more about below.

Today’s Facelift Techniques

Modern facelifts work by restoring the youthful appearance of your skin by addressing the deep tissue. Dr. Wallin will either use a deep plane technique or as SMAS technique, depending on your anatomy and goals.

Each facelift procedure, though, is as unique as you are. Dr. Wallin will work with you to determine the best path forward and use his years of experience and training to create beautiful final results. You can expect to see a significant improvement in the appearance of loose tissue in the mid to lower face, along with the jowls, chin, neck, and areas around the moth. Results are long-lasting and look natural.

For even further anti-aging, we can combine your facelift with eyelid surgery or a brow lift to allow for a holistic transformation of the upper face as well.

Recovery: Easier than Ever

Your surgery will take between two and three hours, after which you’ll have some time to rest and recover before being driven home by a family member or friend to begin the recovery process. Patients will be given anesthesia to keep them comfortable throughout the surgical procedure and initial healing phase. Dr. Wallin will also prescribe pain medication to help ensure your comfort as any swelling, bruising, or redness dissipates.

Initially, there will be a bandage around the area to aid healing. Any side effects like bruising or swelling dissipate over a week or two, and are easily managed with medication. We suggest patients plan for 10-14 days of recovery time, during which you’ll need to avoid strenuous activity.

You’ll be able to return to the vast majority of your activities within a week or two, though healing may take a bit longer to resolve completely.
