Dr. Anthony Colon brings his artistic vision and unparalleled surgical expertise to Desert Bloom Plastic Surgery, following more than a decade of intensive global training. As a Board-Eligible Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Colon is dedicated to advancing the field of aesthetic surgery with precision, innovation, and a patient-first approach. Education and Specialized Training
Dr. Colon’s academic journey reflects a global pursuit of knowledge and expertise. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from the American University of the Caribbean, graduating in the top 1% of his class. He then honed his skills through rotations at prestigious medical institutions such as:
- The Cleveland Clinic
- Lenox Hill Hospital
- Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital
- University of Miami
His commitment to excellence led him to obtain General Surgery training at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., followed by a distinguished research fellowship in Hand and Plastic Surgery at the world-renowned Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Colon then pursued an Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ, where he developed advanced expertise in microsurgery, breast reconstruction, pediatric craniofacial and hand surgery, as well as aesthetic surgery. In recognition of his exceptional clinical and academic achievements, he was honored as Chief Resident in his final year of training.
To refine his aesthetic surgery skills further, Dr. Colon completed an elite fellowship at HKB Cosmetic Surgery in Huntersville, North Carolina—home to one of the oldest and largest aesthetic surgery fellowships in the United States. During this time, he specialized in cosmetic procedures of the breast and body, including:
