Wrinkles Beware: A New Longer-Lasting Option for Non-Invasive Anti-Aging is Almost Here

For decades, now, Botox has been the brand that people think of when they hear anti-aging. Every year, over 7 million Americans undergo Botox treatments to reduce wrinkles and feel their very best. At Oasis Aesthetics, we carry a range of neurotoxin injectables, including Botox, Dysport, and Jouveau, all of which work using the same basic principles.

Each of these brands has its own “personality” and slightly varied formulas, best suited to particular client needs. As a board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Wallin has helped countless patients choose the right option for their lifestyle, goals, and budgets. Soon, though, there’ll be a new option sweeping with benefits unseen in the world of wrinkle reduction.

As long as neurotoxin injections have been widely used, products have offered comparable results, cost, and longevity. Today, though, new medical advances may change the face of non-invasive anti-aging for good.

DAXI: Superior Results That Last

Renown cosmetic company Revance Aesthetics is in the process of revolutionizing injectable botulinum products. They’re claiming this new product, DAXI, is the most considerable neuromodulator innovation of the last 30 years. Currently awaiting widespread FDA approval, Revance plans to release DAXI to patients nationwide sometime this year. The early clinical studies are incredibly promising.

What Makes DAXI Different

What’s so special about DAXI? Clinical testing has shown results to last for about 24 weeks compared to the usual half-life of 13-17 weeks that Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport offer. That means patients would only need to schedule two treatment sessions per year to maintain the stunning wrinkle-defying results.

Currently, while all the cosmetic injectable neuromodulator options available offer patients slightly varying formulas, they all use the Botulinum Toxin Type A as their active ingredient. The other components tend to match as well, which leads to their similarity in terms of results, cost, and quality.

Botulinum Toxin Type A works by halting the communication between precisely targeted muscles and nerves, reducing motion while allowing the upper layers of skin to relax and smooth out. Over the next three to four months, your skin will gradually return to where it was before treatment.

DAXI (DaxibotulinumtoxinA) uses the same primary active ingredient as our current brands. However, just a few innovative tweaks set it to become the first and only anti-aging treatment of its kind. Alongside Botulinum Toxin Type A, DAXI’s formula includes a proprietary peptide excipient, which stabilizes the solution.

Combined with Revance’s high-quality purified botulinum toxin (free of human and animal-based ingredients), patients can benefit from a product that delivers unprecedented results that last.

With a 95% response rate across the “largest aesthetic neuromodulator clinical trial” ever conducted, doctors and patients alike are rightfully quite excited about DAXI’s grand arrival. For now, we’re waiting on the final stages of clinical trials before a widespread FDA approval.

DAXI’s Biologics License Application has been accepted by the FDA earlier this year, so it seems to be just a matter of time. In the meantime, Dr. Wallin and the entire Oasis Aesthetics team are here to answer any of your questions or concerns about anti-aging or any of our other specialized surgical or non-invasive offerings.
